Shaping world-class coastal destination

Nguyen Khac Toan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting on October 24 to listen to a report on the results of implementing urban design ideas and land management and utilization of the area east of Tran Phu and Pham Van Dong Streets. Present at the event were Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives from relevant departments, agencies and localities.

Toward world-class coastline

Accordingly, Zone 1 is envisioned as a vibrant park and marina district, divided into two sub-zones. Sub-zone 1 is a light art complex featuring a 2-hectare light plaza with a capacity of 22,000 people. It also includes a 1.5-hectare artistic water music area, envisioned as a venue for hosting international-scale water music festivals and events. It also includes the province's first therapeutic park designed to promote a healthy lifestyle. Sub-zone 2 features a new marina park including a food street, souvenir shops and a community playground.

Zone 2 is a cultural Heritage Park consisting of two sub-zones: a surfing park and a heritage park. This area is planned to include the construction of the Yersin Museum and the expansion of the Tran Phu Bridge to create a more spacious and accessible public area for community engagement and tourism..

Zone 3 is a long coastal park serving as a be a vibrant hub for tourism, leisure, and cultural experiences and for international standard events and conferences. The 2-4 Square is also a connecting point for the surrounding areas, including the convention center, Nguyen Thi book road and nearby hotels, becoming a prominent landmark along Nha Trang coastline.

In zone 3, a seaside village is also being built, with an ocean theater featuring modern architecture inspired by a swallow's nest. Additionally, there is a Sailor's Square representing the Spratly Islands. Zone 4 is a scenic Park considered as one of the most beautiful areas for enjoying panoramic views of the city.

At the meeting, Nguyen Thanh Phu, Director of the Department of Construction, emphasized the strategic importance of promptly implementing the urban design concept for the area east of Tran Phu – Pham Van Dong Street, adding that this initiative will serve as a key highlight, significantly enhancing the tourism brand value of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa.

Chau Ngo Anh Nhan, Director of the Department of Finance, emphasized that to bring the urban design concept for the area east of Tran Phu – Pham Van Dong Street to life, it is essential to prioritize investment in key projects and signature features. Specifically, public infrastructure such as parks and the expansion of Tran Phu Bridge should be financed by the state budget. For areas designated for investment appeal, the province must urgently proceed with land acquisition, management, and auction processes to facilitate development.

The coastal area along Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong streets will be renovated.

Nguyen Khac Toan instructed the Department of Finance to coordinate with the Department of Construction to review and propose improvements to key constructions along the Tran Phu – Pham Van Dong route, submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for reporting to the Provincial Party Committee for inclusion in public investment for the 2026-2030 period, to be completed by November 15. The Provincial Project Development Management Board is to finalize the investment policies for these projects.

For the land areas east of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Streets, which are planned for investment attraction outside the State budget, the People's Committees of Nha Trang and North Nha Trang wards, along with relevant agencies, will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current status of existing construction projects, focusing on developing a detailed 1/500 scale planning project due to be completed by February 1, 2026, as a basis for conducting the auction.

The former plot of Ana Mandara will be handed over to the Land Development Center to develop an auction plan, ensuring compliance with the planning regulations and completion before March 1, 2026. The plot of the Sailing Club and Louisiane restaurants, after being reclaimed, will be planned to be a popular photo spot to serve the development of the night-time economy.

Concluding the meeting, Nguyen Khac Toan assessed that the area east of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Streets holds significant value in the province's development. Therefore, the timely implementation of the proposed urban design concepts will contribute to enhancing the value of the coastal area while also driving economic growth, especially the night-time economy.
