Working together to bring joy, hope, and love to every child
The Moon Festival celebration by Khanh Hoa Youth Union and Comrade Association at Dinh Bo Linh Junior High School, Bac Ai Tay Commune in late September was filled with great fun and excitement for nearly 400 kids. The event featured vibrant decorations, traditional Mid-Autumn trays and over 1,000 dazzling five-pointed star lanterns.
With a variety of engaging activities, the program not only created a festive atmosphere but also nurtured spiritual values, lit up children's dreams and inspired them to keep striving in their studies. Pupur Thi Thu Thuy, a 9B student at Dinh Bo Linh High School for Ethnic Minorities, said, "I’m so happy to take part in such a joyful Mid-autumn Festival. We enjoyed lion dance, indulged in a festive feast and received lovely gifts. For me, this is truly a memorable celebration.”
According to Huynh Thi Nhu Y, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council, Director of the Provincial Children's House, the Mid-Autumn Festival activities have reached children in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas. Recently, the Provincial Children's House has jointly hosted the program “Lanterns Light Up Dreams” in Dien Lam and Tay Khanh Son communes, bringing warmth and joy to local children.
Additionally, the Moon Festival celebration is scheduled to take place at Khanh Hoa Children's Cultural Palace on October 5, welcoming over 700 children for a night filled with fun, gifts and festive cheer.

Numerous child-focused activities have also been organized across the province during this festive occasion. On October 3, Thuan Nam Commune Youth Union coordinated with volunteers to present 250 gifts worth more than VND28 million to children at Phuoc Lap Primary School. "On October 6, the Commune Youth Union will jointly offer 218 gifts to children at Phuoc Ninh Kindergarten," said Le Xuan Phi, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Secretary of Thuan Nam Commune Youth Union.
On October 3, the Youth Unions of the Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Party agencies, Association of Former Cadres of the Provincial Party Civil Affairs Union; Youth Unions of Khanh Hoa Lottery One Member Co., Ltd., Vietcombank Nha Trang branch, Khanh Hoa Salanganes’ Nest One Member Co., Ltd. also visited and presented 70 gifts to disadvantaged children at Khanh Hoa General Hospital and Khanh Hoa Tropical Diseases Hospital.
Khanh Hoa Newspaper, Radio and Television Youth Union coordinated with other sponsors to organize the affectionate Moon program in Tan Dinh Commune on October 4 for nearly 800 kids with nutritional check-ups, free modification, lion dance, cultural exchange and 800 gifts and 20 scholarships given to disadvantaged students.

Interesting activities at schools
Schools in the province were also bustling with the atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival. On the evening of October 2, Vinh Ngoc Kindergarten (West Nha Trang Ward) organized the joyful Mid-Autumn Festival. The school was brilliant with colorful backdrops, lanterns, balloons and eye-catching Mid-Autumn Festival trays, joyful drumbeats and cheers of children mixed with the lion dance and vibrant performances. The highlight of the program was the fashion show "Colorful Mid-Autumn Festival", where children confidently performed catwalks in their own unique and impressive costumes, conveying a message of environmental protection.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, Principal of the school said, “Mid-Autumn gifts are given to all children. Children have fun and understand more about the meaning of Mid-Autumn Festival. The event also helps children to be more confident, foster creativity, promote solidarity and national pride. This is also an opportunity to foster school-home partnerships in child care”.
More than 270 children of Ninh Hai Kindergarten (Ninh Chu Ward) also participated in the Mid-Autumn Festival on the afternoon of October 3 with a lantern procession, lion dance, acting and a festive feast. At Van Luong Kindergarten (Van Ninh Commune), teachers and children decorated their classrooms, made fruit trays, competed in making lanterns, lion dances and played tug of war. The school gave 344 gifts totaling more than VND10 million to children and 10 gifts totaling VND1 million to poor children. Au Co Junior High School (Nha Trang Ward) organized a lantern-making competition for students, helping them deepen their understanding and appreciation of traditional cultural values.
The Mid-Autumn Festival program 2025 will continue on October 6 with a vibrant lineup of activities, including a ceremony to honor outstanding students, captivating performing arts, lively lion dances and a festive feast of moon cakes and candies.
In addition to the Mid-Autumn Festival activities, such as art performance, lion dance, folk games and a feast on the morning of October 3, To Hap Primary School (Khanh Son Commune) has recently organized the festival with nearly 300 gifts given to students in need in Ta Luong and Doc Gao villages. In addition, more than 700 gifts of candies and 100 P.E uniforms were offered to disadvantaged students. Mau Thi Khanh Ngan, a fifth-grader, said, "I feel very happy and grateful to teachers and others for the support and care. I promise to try my best to study well."
The activities and gifts on this occasion have contributed to bringing joy and motivation to children, especially those in need, reflecting the love, care and generosity of the community, helping children experience a more memorable and heartwarming Mid-Autumn Festival.
