Working tirelessly

From the night of November 18 to the morning of November 19, heavy rainfall combined with the release of floodwaters from reservoirs caused severe flooding in several areas of Dien Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Vinh District, and Tay Nha Trang Ward. The Defense Command of Region 2 – Dien Khanh directed forces to work with local authorities to evacuate residents and protect property.

By the morning of November 19, more than 80% of Dien Commune was submerged, with water levels reaching 1–1.5 meters. Beginning at 2 a.m., military and militia units mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers, supported by motorboats and canoes, to move people to safety. Dong Village remained heavily inundated and rescue operations are still underway.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Kien, Commander of the Defense Command of Region 2 - Dien Khanh said, "Since the afternoon of November 18, and particularly from 2:00 a.m. on November 19 until now, our officers and soldiers have been working tirelessly to safeguard the lives and safety of local residents.”

Efforts to ensure sufficient food supplies

In recent days, the Provincial Military Command has mobilized more than 2,230 officers, soldiers, militia, and self-defense forces to coordinate with units of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 5, and local vanguard teams in urgent flood response and rescue operations. Efforts have focused on evacuating residents from vulnerable areas to safe locations and addressing severe landslides on the Khanh Le and Khanh Son passes. In addition, the forces have worked tirelessly to deliver food supplies to isolated communities and deploy personnel to guard high-risk sites, ensuring that no one is left hungry while minimizing dangers posed by floods and landslides.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Van Toan, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, on November 19 the command promptly delivered nearly 100kg of dry food to assist residents of Dien Commune. The unit also requested Military Region 5 to provide an additional 2 tons of dry food for those severely affected by the floods, which is now being urgently transported to the province.
