Khanh Hoa Party Secretary inspects typhoon response in critical areas

On the evening of November 6, Nghiem Xuan Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, conducted an on-site inspection of Typhoon Kalmaegi response efforts in critical areas, including Dong Ninh Hoa Ward and the communes of Van Hung, Van Ninh, and Van Thang. Joining the delegation were Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Nguyen Tuy, Commander of the Provincial Military Command and Standing Committee member; along with leaders from relevant departments, agencies, and local authorities.

Secretary Thanh reviewed boat mooring operations at the fishing port and the Ninh Hai storm shelter in Dong Ninh Hoa Ward, assessed evacuation procedures in Van Hung and Van Ninh communes, and examined landslide risks along the Dong Dien River in Van Thang Commune.

He commended the proactive measures taken by localities, particularly the timely evacuation of residents from flood- and landslide-prone areas; and emphasized the need for continued vigilance and urged departments and localities to keep track of Typhoon Kalmaegi and potential flooding to ensure swift and effective response planning.
