On November 17, Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, led a working delegation to inspect recovery efforts following landslides caused by heavy rain at Khanh Le Pass. Nguyen Tuy, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Nguyen Thanh Ha, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; along with leaders of relevant departments and localities, oined the delegation.
Earlier, at 10:30 p.m. on November 16, a tour bus traveling on Khanh Le Pass was struck by rocks and soil from a landslide, causing severe damage to the vehicle, killing six passengers and injuring 19 others. Heavy rainfall at the time hampered rescue operations, and subsequent landslides continued to occur in the area.

During the inspection, Nghiem Xuan Thanh commended the responsibility and swift response of the functional forces. On behalf of the provincial leadership, he directed authorities at all levels to provide support to the victims’ families and ensure that medical teams make every effort to treat the injured. He emphasized the need for close coordination among forces to promptly clear the road while ensuring the safety of personnel involved in route clearance.

Regarding long-term solutions, Nghiem Xuan Thanh requested the relevant departments to promptly provide consultancy for the province to propose the Government to soon approve and implement the Nha Trang - Da Lat Expressway Project to enhance traffic safety and contribute to promoting the local economic development and inter-regional connectivity.
