Widespread thunderstorm warning

According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, a strong convective cloud system is developing across most areas of Khanh Hoa Province.

Rain is forecast to continue tonight, November 18, throughout the province with thunderstorms expected to bring hazardous conditions,  including lightning, whirlwinds, tornadoes, hail, and strong gusts of wind, creating risks of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, flooding in low-lying and urban zones, and rapid water flow across spillways.

Rain is forecast to persist tonight, November 18, throughout the province.

At sea, Khanh Hoa’s offshore areas and the Spratly Islands will see scattered showers and thunderstorms, with northeasterly winds strengthening to level 6 and gusting up to levels 7–8, causing rough seas on November 18 and 19.

Authorities and residents are urged to take precautions to ensure safety both on land and at sea.
