Contributing to post-flood recovery efforts

To support post-flood recovery efforts, the business community inside and outside Khanh Hoa Province has actively provided material aid, offering encouragement, and mobilizing additional resources to help residents in affected areas stabilize their lives.

Compassionate relief shipments

During the recent historic flood, thousands of residents in the province endured severe hardships as their homes and belongings were submerged under water. The Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association and Nha Trang 39 Entrepreneurs Club promptly connected and founded a "Rescue Team" joined by more than 20 entrepreneurs, large and small, in the province, supporting nearly VND500 million to buy and transport necessities for flooded communities.

Besides, businessmen and enterprises also connected and called on the business community in many provinces and cities across the country to donate and transport relief goods to support people in flooded areas in Khanh Hoa.

In Dien Dien Commune, when the relief convoy of enterprises stopped in front of the village cultural house, dozens of employees, their clothes still covered in mud, urgently transferred bags of rice, barrels of water and warm blankets to the people in indescribable emotions.

“In my entire life, I have never witnessed such devastating floodwaters. The whole commune was submerged, and most of the people’s belongings were swept away or severely damaged. Amid these hardships, alongside the timely support from the province and local authorities, the compassion of organizations, businesses and individuals deeply moved us,” said Pham Thi Lien, Trung 1 Village, Dien Dien Commune.

Upon hearing news of the flood damage, many enterprises from outside the province swiftly dispatched working groups to the affected areas. Without banners or slogans, they arrived quietly yet with a strong sense of responsibility. In severely inundated regions, these enterprises worked alongside local authorities to assess the extent of destruction, prioritizing aid for poor households, policy families, and elderly residents living alone. Some companies contributed hundreds of millions of dong in emergency relief, while others organized internal fundraising campaigns, with each officer and employee donating a portion of their income to support villagers in need. Though the contributions differed in scale, they all shared a heartfelt commitment to the people in the flooded areas.

In addition to financial assistance, many businesses also provided essential items to help residents quickly stabilize their lives. The relief team from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Hanoi) distributed more than 2,000 gifts, containing gas stoves, gas cylinders and rice cookers, to households in the flooded communes and wards of Ninh Hoa, Tay Ninh Hoa, Hoa Thang, Dien, Dien Khanh, and Tay Nha Trang. The practical support brought warmth and joy, as people deeply appreciated the care and compassion behind these meaningful gifts.

Le Van Giap, Tay Nha Trang Ward confided, “During the recent flood, the water in my house rose to 1.5 meters. When the floodwaters receded, all my property had been destroyed. We have received rice and now a new rice cooker and gas stove donated by the company. I am very happy.”

Always by residents’ side

In the days following the flood, the people of Khanh Hoa have not only received material support from local authorities, organizations, and individuals, but also encouragement and solidarity from the business community. Business delegations traveled directly to the affected areas to deliver aid, witnessing firsthand the struggles of residents as they worked to recover. In such difficult times, the gifts carried even greater meaning, turning the charity trip into a practical act of compassion and helping the members truly grasp the profound significance of the word “compatriots.”

Representatives of the HUD Housing and Urban Development Corporation presented household items to support residents in the flooded areas of Hoa Thang Ward. Ta Man, Director of Phu Khang Gemstone Joint Stock Company (Nam Nha Trang Ward), together with other entrepreneurs and enterprises, worked to mobilize and connect resources to bring more gifts to the affected communities. “We come to the people in flooded areas with our hearts and a sense of social responsibility. It is about accompanying and sharing with them in difficult times, with the hope that they will soon stabilize their lives,” Ta Man said. Meanwhile, Huynh Thi Tuong Van, Deputy Director of Vietnam Airlines Corporation, directly contributed VND1 billion and 2,000 blankets to residents after the disaster. She emphasized, “By helping others, we also help ourselves. Social responsibility is what we must uphold, especially when people need help the most.”

Upon receiving flood relief from enterprises, Ho Xuan Truong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, expressed his gratitude to the businesses for the support, emphasizing that every act of assistance from the business community in the flood-affected areas of Khanh Hoa is not only of material value, but above all, a profound source of encouragement, reflecting sentiment, social responsibility and humane solidarity. The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee sincerely acknowledged the enterprises’ timely contributions to aid recovery efforts after the disaster. All support will be promptly allocated to those in need. Ho Xuan Truong also expressed his hope that enterprises will continue to grow, operate effectively and accompany the province in ensuring social security.

In the aftermath of the devastating floods, the support of the business community has emerged as a bright highlight in recovery efforts, contributing to helping residents regain stability and confidence as they rebuild their lives.
