These days, police officers across Khanh Hoa Province are working tirelessly, racing against time to help residents restore and rebuild homes devastated by the recent floods.
Home rebuilding
In A Pa 2 Village, Tay Khanh Son mountainous commune, dozens of local and provincial police officers, local security forces are helping carry bags of cement and pushing wheelbarrows of crushed stone and bricks up the slope to rebuild the house for Cao Thi Ta Hien's family.
Contractor Nguyen Van Can said, “Continuous rain has left trucks stuck in the mud, forcing workers to unload and carry each brick by hand. It’s exhausting, but we try our best to support those who have lost their homes in floods; they need a place to live, especially during the coming Tet holiday.”

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Dong, Head of Tay Khanh Son Commune Police, said the floods had left two families in A Pa 2 Village, Cao Thi Ta Hien and Cao Thi Lim, without homes. Provincial police are assisting with the reconstruction. Alongside supervising the work, the commune police have deployed a task force to help transport materials and safeguard the construction. He expressed hope that favorable weather would allow the construction to be completed on schedule before the New Year.
In Dien Dien Commune, the construction is urgently underway for the home of Nguyen Thi My Chau’s family in Tay 4 Village. Lieutenant Nguyen Minh Tu, Secretary of the Commune Police Youth Union, said, “We take turns every day to transport building materials and mix mortar. This is a chance for young police officers in Khanh Hoa to show their commitment to helping people overcome hardship.”
Nguyen Thi My Chau’s new house was fully funded by the Provincial Public Security, with a corrugated iron roof, one living room and two bedrooms, enough for the whole family. She expressed her joy and hoped the work would be completed before Tet, giving her children a safe place to study and allowing the family to celebrate their first Tet together after the disaster.

Construction schedule
In other localities such as Cam Hiep, Hoa Thang, Khanh Vinh, Dien Lac, etc., police officers and soldiers from the Provincial Police, commune police, and local people are also busy with the home reconstruction. This is not only about helping people rebuild their homes, but also about the responsibility and care for residents. According to the leader of the Provincial Public Security, 23 houses destroyed in the late-November floods are being rebuilt and are scheduled to be handed over by December 31, 2025.
Despite the continuing rain in Khanh Hoa, new homes are steadily rising through the tireless efforts of the People’s Police officers. For them, the greatest reward is simply seeing families settle into safe new homes.
