2570th Vesak Day celebration at Long Son Pagoda

Khanh Hoa Provincial Executive Committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha held a ceremony to celebrate Buddha’s 2570th birthday (Vesak Day) at Long Son Pagoda on May 31. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, and the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, leaders of the provincial departments and agencies; monks, nuns and Buddhists in the province attended the ceremony.

The Vesak Day celebration was marked by solemn rituals: chanting prayers for blessings, delivering speeches from the Supreme Patriarch and Deputy Supreme Patriarch, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; listening to a congratulatory letter from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, offering prayers for national peace and prosperity, and presenting flowers to the Buddha.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Executive Committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, together with monks, nuns, and followers, has consistently upheld the Party’s guidelines and State laws while actively engaging in patriotic movements, social welfare, and charity. In 2025, Buddhist charitable activities totaled over VND 78 billion, including more than VND 28 billion mobilized to support flood victims.

Nguyen Thanh Ha expressed hope that the Provincial Executive Committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, together with monks, nuns, and followers, will continue to uphold Buddhist traditions, actively join patriotic and social activities, strengthen national unity, and join efforts with local authorities and people to achieve the provincial development goals.
