New school year 2026 - 2027 begins nationwide

Students in Khanh Hoa Province, along with their peers nationwide, attended a new school year 2026 - 2027 opening ceremony on September 5. This is the second academic year in which the opening ceremony has been held simultaneously nationwide, spanning levels from preschool to university across public and private institutions.

The opening ceremony included the national program organized by the Ministry of Education and Training via a hybrid format combining in-person and online attendance (with the Khanh Hoa provincial hub located at Pi Nang Tac Ethnic Minority Boarding School in Bac Ai Dong Commune) and activities tailored to the specific conditions designed to create a joyful and enthusiastic start to the new year.

The 2026-2027 academic year is the second school year in which the education sector implements the Politburo’s Resolution No. 71 dated August 22, 2025 on breakthroughs in the development of education and training; the Government’s Resolution No. 281 (dated September 15, 2025) promulgating the action plan to implement the Politburo Resolution No. 71; and the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee’s Resolution No. 01 dated October 3, 2025 on the sustainable education development strategy in Khanh Hoa Province through 2035, with a vision to 2045.

The provincial education and training sector is focusing on a robust shift in management mindset, moving from administrative management to development-oriented governance. Under the theme "Innovative mindset - strong transformation - substantive results," the sector is concentrating on key tasks and solutions, including refining institutional frameworks; enhancing state management in education and school governance; innovating and improving the quality of preschool, general, and continuing education; reforming testing, assessment, and quality accreditation processes; ensuring equitable access to quality education; and developing a workforce of teachers and educational administrators meeting the demands of educational reform. Additionally, efforts are being made to upgrade facilities and improve the efficient use of investment resources; accelerate digital transformation, data development, and the application of artificial intelligence in education; strengthen political, ideological, and moral education; ensure school safety and student health; and enhance career guidance aligned with human resource development needs.

This school year, the province has over 83,300 preschool children, more than 173,000 primary school students, 134,840 junior secondary students, over 57,600 senior secondary school students and over 8,700 learners at continuing education facilities. In addition, the province is home to universities, as well as branches of universities, training centers, colleges, and intermediate schools, accommodating thousands of students.
