Under the detailed aquaculture project in Nha Trang Bay from now to 2015, the water surface used for mariculture in Nha Trang Bay will be around 62.5 ha, a decrease of 15.8ha.

Accordingly, to minimize inshore over-exploitation, some aquaculture installations will be removed and some existing aquaculture species will be replaced by those which are more environmentally friendly. Besides lobster, fish and green mussels, residents are encouraged to rear others kinds of species including Holothurian, butterfish, abalone, etc.

This is considered a sustainable method to preserve the bio-diversity in Nha Trang Bay.
