The Thong Nhat railway in the central region has been damaged by Typhoon Mirinae in 25 sections. The worst-hit section is from Phong Thanh to Dieu Tri, Vietnam Railway corporation reports.
Local authorities are joining forces to repair the local railway system with an estimated expenditure of 50 billion VND. The railway is expected to re-open to traffic on November 10.
