According to Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sport & Tourism, Nha Trang City is expected to receive a large number of tourists during Tet Holiday. Therefore, all travel businesses has made good preparations to meet tourists and locals’ entertainment needs. Especially, Tet Cake Festival 2010 promises a spectacular highlight of the Lunar New Year Celebration 2010 in Khanh Hoa.
Tet Cake Festival is annually held by Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang Hotel since 2004 when Nha Trang Bay was recognized one of ithe world’s most beautiful bays. Tet cake is traditional food in Vietnamese Lunar New Year. It demonstrates the importance of rice in the Vietnamese culture.
At the 1st Tet Cake Festival, the record tet cake was 29m. To satisfy tourists’ amusement demand as well as promote the tourism trademark of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang Hotel will hold Tet Cake Festival on February 15 and 16 (2nd and 3rd day of the 1st month of lunar calendar) to mark the New Year and 1,000th Thang Long – Hanoi Anniversary. 1,000 tet cakes including a record 35m tet cake will be cooked. The festival will include a cake-cutting ceremony, music and folk game shows.
999 tet cakes will be wrapped at the Conference Center at 86 Tran Phu Street and then they will be carried to Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang Hotel where the longest cake, 35m is wrapped. All the cakes will be cooked in the beach park in front of the hotel. On the 3rd day of Tet, the cakes will be cut and given to locals and tourists and sold to raise fund for the poor. Moreover, a spring flower town is formed on February 6-13 together with many bonsai, Vietnam’s record shell collections and photo exhibitions. A musical show named Spring Love and Spring Buffets are also held.
The Department of Culture, Sport & Tourism has sent a document on lighting decoration to travel businesses including hotels on Tran Phu St., Pham Van Dong St., Hung Vuong St., Tue Tinh St., etc to make Nha Trang City to become a splendid place to visit during Tet Holiday.
At Sunrise Nha Trang Hotel, dozens of traditional activities will be held including Vietnamese traditional cooking classes, tours by cyclo to Tet markets, dragon dance, traditional music shows, etc. Yang Bay Tourist Park, Long Phu Tourist Company, Vinpearl Land, and Nha Trang Wonderpark are also hastening preparations for Tet Holiday.
