Van Ninh District has finished the 2009 rice crop harvest with an average productivity of 43.5 quintals/ha. All communes in the district continue to sow 3,987ha of land with winter-spring rice crops. Due to peanut cost fluctuations, many have shifted from peanut to rice farming.
