Hundreds of locals and tourists flocked to Yasaka-Saigon-Nha Trang Hotel on February 16 (2nd day of the Lunar New Year) to join Tet Cake Festival, which marked the New Year 2010 and 1,000th Thang Long – Hanoi Anniversary. 1,000 tet cakes including a record 35m tet cake were cooked. The festival included a cake-cutting ceremony, a cake procession, music and folk game shows. Nearly 100 staff were engaged in the festival.
The cake-cutting ceremony was held on February 17. One part of the cake was given to tourists free of charge and the rest was for sale to raise fund for the poor.
