Founded in June 2001, aerobics courses held at Khanh Hoa Children’s House are really a helpful playground for children. The aerobic exercise helps promote physical fitness as well as relieve school stress for students.

The aerobics classes open in the evening when the city begins to light up. Aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength training routines with the goal of improving all elements of fitness. Some 50 participants aged from 3-to 18 are attending the aerobics courses.

Van Thi Hiep, Phuoc Hai Ward said, “I always take my daughter to the aerobics course. This kind of exercise is very helpful and suitable for my daughter. She has four classes a week and the tuition fee is just VND45,000.” Teacher Le Thi Hong Yen said, “Actually, I’m not an aerobics professional, but I have a great passion for this kind of sport. It takes commitment and hard work to become an aerobics teacher. I try my best to help the children to practice. They are all very enthusiastic.”

During the first days of its foundation day, the courses had few learners as aerobics was new to many people. However, just after a short time, the number of participants increased fast. Aerobics classes are divided into different levels of intensity and complexity. Many children have proved to have an aptitude for aerobics. 4 gold medals were rewarded to participants of first level class, 2 gold medals to the second level class and 1 gold medal to the third level class at the Nha Trang’s 2007 Phu Dong Tournament. 3 gold and 1 silver medals were rewarded at the 2008 National Phu Dong Tournament held in Khanh Hoa, etc. Besides, many trainees have joined performances at sea festivals and many other events in Nha Trang City.

The teachers are all enthusiastic with an aim to create a sound playground which helps build confidence and promote physical fitness for children. A child named Phan Hong Dung Uyen said, “I benefit a lot from the class. I become more active at school.”  Ly Ba Tin, Director of Khanh Hoa Children’s House said, “The class can help practitioners improve both physical and mental health and reduce school stress. Besides, we wish to offer children with a talent and fascination for aerobics to open out.”
