The long drought has led to a serious lack of electricity in the dry season in Khanh Hoa Province. This situation cause bad influences on production of businesses in the province. Saving electricity is an effective solution to this problem now. Long Sinh Co., Ltd in Suoi Dau Industrial Zone, Nha Trang is an example in electricity saving.
Long Sinh Co., Ltd. can save electricity right from its building’s design. The building is high and airy. Roofs of workshops are transparent and windows are made of glass in order that the sun can light the inside. The production area is light enough for working although there are no bulbs for tubes.
Moreover, the company’s main way to save electricity is using electricity in production suitably. “Steam boiler, which supplies heat for the whole production process, consumes electrical energy the most in the company. To save electricity, we have operated it by coal instead of electricity since 2007”, said Duong Dinh Phuc, Production Manager of the company.

In addition, the company always uses machines in their proper capacity to save electricity. The machines only start when materials sufficient for production. The company also makes suitable production plan to avoid consuming much power in peak hours.
Saving electricity has become a movement as well as a sense to each worker of Long Sinh Co., Ltd. Van Ngoc Hau, an electric equipment maintenance man in packing division said, “Everyone in our company has a sense of saving electricity. As a maintenance man, I always check up and maintain equipment timely to limit electricity loss”. Truong Thi Thanh Tam, a production worker, confided, “Workers here salvage natural light and wind. We only turn on light when necessary and use machines when working.”
Such electricity saving ways save the company some billion VND each year. Particularly in April, despite the increase in electricity price, electricity expense of the company decreased by 11% year-on-year, according to Vuong Vinh Hiep, General Director of the company.
