67 out of 146 teachers, accounting for 45.89% have been graded good at the provincial high school teachers’ contest, academic year 2009 - 2010 in Nha Trang City. Held every two years, this year’s contest drew the participation of teachers from 32 out of 32 schools across the province. Most participants were teachers of math (21) and the least were teachers of information technology (4. The event is to enhance education quality, promoting students’ self-management and self-determination skills.

Le Tuan Tu, Vice Manager of the Department of Education & Training said, "The contest is held every two years to enhance education quality and innovate learning and teaching methods. This year, students had a chance to get involved in the teaching evaluation. Teachers renovated learner evaluation methods, which are based on three levels, knowledge, practice and creativeness. All the lessons focus on training self-study skills, creative thinking skills and motivation skills for students."
Teacher Nguyen Thi Hoai, Nguyen Truong To Semi-public School, Nha Trang said, “The contest is very helpful to teachers to improve and exchange their teaching skills. It also promoted emulation in teaching and learning.”
The first team prize went to Ngo Gia Tu School, Cam Ranh with 1 teacher being graded excellent, 6 out of 9 good. Nguyen Van Troi School, Nha Trang won the second team prize with 1 teacher being graded excellent and 4 out of 5 good. Consolidation prizes went to 7 schools including Hoang van Thu, Ly Tu Trong, Nguyen Truong To (Nha Trang City), Nguyen Hue, Nguyen Thai Hoc (Dien Khanh District), Phan Boi Chau (Cam Ranh) and Tran Cao Van (Ninh Hoa).
