In 2006 – 2010, apart from VND1,000 billion investment from the State’s budget, many enterprises, organizations and individuals have made great donations to improve school infrastructures in Khanh Hoa Province.

In Khanh Hoa, there are 161 nursery schools, 188 elementary schools, 101 junior high schools, 32 senior high schools, 9 regular education centers, 3 vocational centers, 136 communication learning centers, 2 professional high schools, 3 colleges, etc. Nearly VND1,000 billion investment in education has not met the requirement for school infrastructure improvement.
Many enterprises and organizations have made contribution to the local education sector. University of Technology and University of Pedagogy of Ho Chi Minh City have funded the housing projects for teachers of Khanh Thuong Elementary School, Thanh Son Elementary School and offered equipment worth VND200 million in total. Nha Trang Teachers’ Training College has financed the construction of Hoa Hong Nursery School (Khanh Vinh District), offered televisions and computers worth VND120 million to schools in the districts of Khanh Vinh, Khanh Son and Van Ninh. Khanh Hoa Study Encouragement Association has donated VD17 billion. France’s AEA has contributed VND4.5 billion to the construction of nursery and elementary schools.
Besides, many individuals have donated money and land to build schools. Nguyen Thi Hong, Director of Maximark in Ho Chi Minh City has offered VND3.3 billion to the construction of Dien Son Nursery School; Nguyen Ngoc Hoang; Director of Trade & Service Company in Ho Chi Minh VND1.7 billion to the construction of zone B of Dien Son Elementary School, Dien Khanh; Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Director of Tam Huong Company VND1.2 billion worth of scholarships to poor students. Mau Hong Nam, a resident in Son Hiep, Khanh Son has donated 1,447m2 to build a school.
“Thanks to many organizations and individuals’ support, the local school infrastructures have much improved. Hopefully, Khanh Hoa Province will benefit more from benefactors to meet the requirement for educational renovation, ” said Luu Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Education & Training.
