3 years after its foundation day, Cam Lam District has seen great progress in education with much improvement in infrastructures.

Investment focus

The first session of People’s Council of Cam Lam District issued a resolution on building national standard schools, period 2008 - 2012 and the strategy till 2015. The initiative aimed to standardize, modernize and socialize school and education management systems to facilitate the innovation of teaching and learning methods to raise education quality contributing to the local sustainable socio-economic development.

Specifically, by 2012, there will be over 60% of nursery schools, 60% of primary schools and 50% of junior high schools at national standard; 2 senior high schools will meet the national standard. By 2015, all the schools will meet national standards.

Do Huu Quynh, Chief of Education Bureau said, “The education Department has managed 45 schools, only 7 of which have met the national standard. Therefore, great effort is being made to innovate education methods, improve education quality and socialize education.”  The total capital in basic construction in education from 2008 to 2010 has reached over VND77 billion, focusing on improving the local school system management and teaching staff’s knowledge and skills.

Satisfactory results

According to Chief of Education Bureau Quynh, “By end of this year, 19 schools in the district will meet requirements for infrastructures to secure for future generations the chances of better schooling. In response to the national movement entitled ’Friendly school, active students’, Cam Lam has made great effort to develop clean and green schools and encourage students to become more active, self-confident and creative in study through practical and effective curriculum.

The number of pupils graded good in study have increased rapidly. Particularly, one fifth grader won the second national  prize in the 2009 - 2010 school year. One teacher won an award for excellence in teaching at national level and fifteen won the award at provincial level. Many students and teachers were rewarded prizes in provincial contests.

Only in a short time, the Education Department of Cam Lam District has made significant progress in terms of infrastructures and quality. The satisfactory achievement has resulted from the local authority’s great concern and focus on education, which plays a vital role in the socio-economic growth of the district.
