Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee adopted a project to upgrade Cam Ranh Township to a city in a meeting presided over by the Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Lam Phi on September 6.

Then, the provincial People’s Committee entrusted the People’s Committee Bureau with file preparation to submit the provincial People’s Council.

Cam Ranh Township has an area of 32,501 hectares and a population of 128,358 (till December 31, 2009). It has 15 administrative units with 9 wards and 6 communes.
