| The Internet has become an effective tool of many teachers for their teaching and doing research. |
The programme has targeted at 40,000 schools since September, 2008, allowing some 30 million teachers and students in Khanh Hoa Province to have internet access, which is very helpful for teaching, study, and research work.
Mr. Tran Dinh Tien, Director of Viettel Khanh Hoa Branch said, “Viettel Khanh Hoa Branch has provided the leased line service for 5 schools, FTTH service for 1 school, ADSL for 114 schools, 3G for 181 schools and EDGE for 31 schools.”
The joint programme launched by Ministry of Education and Training and Viettel in September 2008 has provided internet access for nearly 332 educational institutions, including 106 nursery schools, 127 primary schools, 61 junior high schools, 23 senior high schools, 5 colleges/ professional schools and 10 other educational institutions throughout the province.
Le Van Duc, Headmaster of Phan Boi Chau High School, Cam Ranh Town said, “Teachers and students have benefited a lot from the initiative. Internet access is essential for learning and teaching technologies. The application of information technology in education has helped lessons more interesting and persuading.”
“Information technology plays an important role in education and training. All schools have enjoyed free Internet service provided by the Viettel Khanh Hoa Branch. This is a meaningful support and great effort of Viettel Khanh Hoa Branch, ” said Mr. Luu Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Education & Training.
Viettel Khanh Hoa Branch has helped enhance the application of information technology in teaching, especially in remote areas, thus improving the life chances of the disadvantaged.
