. Industry grows well in early 2011
Industrial production value of Khanh Hoa Province in the first month of 2010 reached VND1,254.8 billion, increasing by 14.7% year-on-year. This is an impressive figure, a good start for the period of 2011 – 2015.
Specifically, in January, State-own sector showed a 16.8% growth rate. For example, Khanh Hoa Salangane Nest Company grew by 2.1 times. Khanh Viet Corporation, Khanh Hoa Seafood Export Co., Ltd. and Khanh Hoa Forest Products Co., Ltd. made 11% - 98.7% growth.
Additionally, industrial production value of foreign invested sector increased by 48.9%. Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard Co., Ltd. (HVS), SanMiguel Vietnam Co., Ltd., Sambo ISE Co., Ltd. had 16.6% - 72.2% rise.
Owning to finding good markets, rattan and wooden furniture processing businesses, namely Suoi Dau Rattan Processing Export Company, Nha Trang Rattan Processing Export Company and Dai Nam Interior Co., Ltd. rose by 3.7 – 160..2% while frozen seafood processing businesses, namely Gallant Ocean Co., Ltd., Sakura Food Co., Ltd., Long Shin Co., Ltd., Phillips Seafood Co., Ltd went up by 9.3 – 107.8%.
The above figures are good grounds for Khanh Hoa Province’s industry to target an annual growth rate of 13.5% set by Resolution of the fourth provincial People’s Council adopted in end 2010.
. Optimistic signs
A lot of optimistic signs for the the growth of the province’s industry have been seen so far.
Ship building surely will have a thriving as HVS has switched to only building new ships in the second quarter of 2011 and hand over 12 ships in the whole year. Additionally, Cam Ranh Ship Building Factory has new production contracts.
Salangane nest products and cement also are forecast to soar in production when High Quality Salangane Nest Soft Drink Factory and Cam Ranh Cement Factory start operation.
At present, Khanh Hoa Province has been investing in industrial group to create infrastructure for small and medium-size businesses. Three industrial groups have been put into operation and five others have been established. The province is trying to create better conditions for businesses.
