Phu Khanh Petroleum Company under Vietnam National Petroleum Group (PETROLIMEX) has ensured petrol and oil supplies and fulfilled its social responsibilities in the 3 provinces of Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan.

The company has 480 staff with 67 subsidiaries and hundreds of outlets, most of which are located in densely populated areas. Therefore, a great emphasis has always put on fire prevention and control as fires can be easily caused if proper care is not taken.

Over the past 35 years, especially since the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting was issued, Petrolimex has paid even greater attention to fire control. The company has worked closely with the Public Security’s Fire Fighting and Prevention Departments together with local services in Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen and Ninh Thuan to promote education on fire control and improve management capacity.

From 2010 to 2011, Phu Khanh Petroleum Company has carried out 120 projects. VND3 billion has been poured on fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment. The corporation has also invested heavily in new technologies as well as inspections to keep to the State’s regulations and laws on fire safety, upgrade its storage facilities, ports and pipelines and promote workplace safety, as well as provide education on fire fighting and prevention for its staff. 

At the present, Phu Khanh Petroleum Company has 1 fire-engine with 12 firemen on 24-hour standby. Every year, the company in association with the Public Security’s Fire Fighting and Prevention Departments opens fire prevention and fighting courses for its staff. Over 10 years, 29 training courses were held with the attendance of 1,500 people.

Phu Khanh Petroleum Company has been recommended to be rewarded the 3rd ranking medal of national defense for its achievement in fire prevention and fighting.
