Power lack has not happened in Khanh Hoa Province during the dry season this year. Electricity saving programs with active response of the residents and businesses have brought this practical effect.
Complying with the national Elactricity Saving Program and the provincial People’s Committee’s instructions on electricity economy, Khanh Hoa Power Company has been propagandizing this issue, especially encouraging use of energy-saving compact lights.
Businesses also have given support to electricity economy. One of the highlights was For power save target program launched by Philips Electronics Vietnam Co.,Ltd. with many practical activities such as giving enery-saving lights to the poor in remote areas, exchanging compact lights for incandescent bulbs and propagandizing effects of enery saving. So far this year, the program has been developed in three provinces Phu Yen, Hoa Binh and Khanh Hoa, popularizing enery saving to thousands of poor household
According to Hoang Thanh Phong, an offial of Philips Vietnam, in Khanh Hoa Province, the program has recently been held in two communes of Suoi Tan and Suoi Tien, Dien Khanh District and supplying free 5,000 enery-saving lights to the poor households here.

Thanks to electricity saving, electricity sales of Khanh Hoa in the first six months of 2011 was only 519.49 million kWh.
The national Electricty Saving Program saved 3.4% of the whole country’s electricity consumption in the period of 2006 – 2010. The program targets to save 5% - 8% in the period of 2011 – 2015.
Electricity saving not only is more profitable to indiviuals as well as businesses but can ensure stable electricity supply in the province.
