Investing VND500 billion to build new campus, Pacific Ocean University affirms its target to become a national-standard university and providing a high-quality human resource for the country.

Pacific Ocean University, established under Decision 1929/QD-TTg dated December 31, 2008 by the Prime Minister, is the first private university in the province as well as the Southern Central. The university trains tertiary level in fields of Accounting, Finance – Banking, Business Administration, Information Technology and English. It also trains secondary level in fields of Accounting, Traveling, Tourism, Information Technology, Construction and Sanation.

After two years, the university has 2,081 students now. “Pacific Ocean University attaches the special importance to training practice and application to equip professional skills for its students”, said PhD. Vo Van Tuan Dung, the principal of the university.

Accordingly, basing the frame of the Ministry of Education and Training, the university has built up its own syllabus, especially raising practicing time and encouraging students’ activeness.

Moreover, with the aim to become a national-standard interdisciplinary university, Pacific Ocean University has developed its plan for the period of 2011 – 2015. Recently, the university has started construction of its new campus in Hon Nghe, Vinh Ngoc, Nha Trang. The project, covering 15 hectares in area, will be invested VND500 billion. The project includes a school for 16,000 students, a dormitory for 3,800 students, a hostel for the teaching staff, an outdoor sports field (including a football ground, a volleyball court, a badminton court, a tennis court and a swimming pool), a park and surroundings. The new campus is scheduled to start operation in the school year of 2013 – 2014.

Presently, Pacific Ocean University is also making a plan to cooperate with some domestic and international universities to train some disciplines, preparing to become an interdisciplinary university.
