Like other places in the world, Christmas things are found everywhere in Nha Trang these days. Christmas market this year sees the domination of locally-made products.
Christmas trees with various size, design and material are displayed for sale in bookstores and souvenir shops on big streets in the center of Nha Trang City such as Thong Nhat, Nguyen Trai, Phan Boi Chau and Le Hong Phong. Their prices now rise by 10 – 20% over last season . A 1.2m green tree costs VND245,000 – VND285,000; 1.5m: VND430,000 - VND455,000; 1.8m: VND610,000 – VND650,000 and 2.1m: VND730,000 – VND875,000.
White Christmas trees have lower price than green ones. For example, a 1.2m white Christmas tree is priced VND150,000 – VND174,000 and a 1.8m tree costs VND340,000 – VND375,000.
Additionally, shorter Christmas trees with 20 – 70 cm in height are selling only VND25,000 – VND170,000.
“We can sell great Christmas trees with 2.5m – 3m worth VND950,000 – VND1.5 million to order”, said a salesman of Tu Nhien Shop on Thong Nhat Street.

Decorations for Christmas trees also are very plentiful. Colorful ornaments such as bell, pine cone, pearl, gift box, gift bag, stocking and snowman cost VND3,000 – VND35,000. A tinsel’s worth VND3,000 – VND9,000. A set of blinking lights is selling VND35,000 – VND80,000 while a laurel wreath is priced VND120,000 – VND300,000.
On the whole, Christmas decoration market this year has more domestic products than Chinese ones. The domestic products are good-looking and rich in variety.
Christmas toys are also very abundant, especially animated Santa Claus, which costs VND75,000 – VND180,000 each. Santa wear with red and white is very favorite on Christmas. Santa hat and beard cost only VND4,000 - VND8,000 while Santa clothes are worth VND25,000 - VND145,000.
Christmas cards are plentiful in quantity and design. Simple cards, printed with images of Christmas and greetings, cost VND2,000 – VND7,000 each, hand-made ones: VND11,000 – VND28,000 and music ones: 7,500 - 22,000 VND.
This year, home Christmas present delivery service by Santa Claus is still available in bookstores and shops in Nha Trang.
