Annually when Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) comes, the Party, the State, authority organizations and benefactors in Khanh Hoa Province give presents to poor people. The presents partly bring the poor a warmer Tet.

Joining a visit to Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District, we understood the happiness of poor people when being given Tet presents. Right from the early morning, Suoi Cat People’s Committee is bustling with people awaiting presents. “Every year when Tet is drawing near, missions will come and give presents to the poor. We are very looking forward to them. They help our family less difficult on Tet days”, said Cao Thi Be, in Suoi Cat.

“The presents for poor people in Suoi Cat today were funded by employees of two units, including Khanh Hoa Newspaper, Khanh Hoa Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV), Khanh Hoa Agriculture Bank Insurance Joint-Stock Corporation and The He Moi Telecoms and Informatics Company Limited. We hope these small presents will make poor people here happier on the traditional Tet”, said Lam Thi Nguyet Oanh, vice-chairwoman of BIDV’s Labor Union.

Poor people receive Tet presents.

Along with Suoi Cat, many other localities in the province receive similar cares, aiming to bring a warmer Tet for needy families.

Besides, on this occasion, hundreds of presents have been given to revolutionary families, invalids and beneficiaries of social welfare in the province. Especially, the provincial People’s Committee has sent 653,565 kilograms of rice to 21,620 households with 43,044 people to relive famine during Tet and the between-crop period.

Taking care of the poor’s Tet shows Vietnam’s mutual aid tradition. It’s also a right policy of the Party, the State and the authorities at all levels in the province, bringing a warmer Tet for the poor and partly ensuring social security.
