Nha Trang City has seen an increasingly buoyant gift market fueled by a strong demand due to approaching 2012 Lunar New Year or Tet.
A wide variety of items for the New Year’s Day is available in supermarkets, bookstores and souvenir shops. Many special promotion and discount are offered to customers.
50 kinds of gift packages are available at Maximark Nha Trang ranging between VND300,000 and VND1 million. Each package contains various items such as wine, tea, coffee, chocolate, sausages, sweets, cakes, etc.
Besides ready-packaged gifts, customers can also create custom gift baskets with special treats.
Maximark Nha Trang supermarket has received an order for 130 gift packages for Tet from a company and additional 200 gift baskets from individuals.
Reportedly, Maximark Nha Trang sold 80 gift baskets on average a day last season. A gift package costs VND500,000 - 800,000 or even VND1.5million - 3 million. Gift prices are 10 - 20% up compared with last year.
Khanh Linh, a customer at Ngo Gia Tu Street, Nha Trang City, said, "There are more gift basket options than last year. It's advisable to buy gifts now because prices often go up as the New Year's Day approaches."
Many students have chosen gifts for their teachers before going home for Tet. Ngoc Phuong, a student at Nha Trang University said, "Gift baskets are a perfect gift choice."
New Year's Day is the perfect time to send warm wishes for merry time with the adorable gifts.
