Leading an active lifestyle is essential, especially for seniors. Regular exercise helps the elderly maintain health with a good sense of well-being.

Every early morning or late afternoon, 2-4 Square and parks in Nha Trang City and other communities in Khanh Hoa Province are crowded with old people doing exercise and playing sports. Exercise can help the elderly to keep a healthy lifestyle which improves mental abilities.

80 year-old Dinh Van Duy in Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City said, "Regular exercise makes me healthier and happier. My grandchildren and children do not have to be too worried about my health. I am also a member of the local association for the elderly."

Exercise is extremely beneficial to old people. Regular physical activity lowers risks for a variety of conditions, particularly heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. In addition, exercise often improves sleep and increases appetite.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Association for the Elderly has provided favorable conditions to set up senior exercise clubs to promote social interaction and physical activities for seniors.

"Sporting festivals are held every year on the International Day for the Elderly (October 1) and the anniversary day of the association," said Le Xuan Hanh, Chief of the Representative Board of Khanh Hoa Association for the Elderly.

Reportedly, there are 58 senior exercise clubs and 57 table tennis, badminton and chess clubs so far in Khanh Hoa Province.

Thanks to the concern of the government, the elderly in Khanh Hoa Province have proved to be more and more active, contributing their wealth of lifetime experience to younger generations.
