A traditional meeting of Spratly Islands soldiers was held in the provinces of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen on February 24.

Nearly 150 cadres, soldiers and representatives of wounded soldiers and martyrs who had worked on Spratly Islands (the island district of Khanh Hoa Province) attended the event.
Veterans presently living in the provinces of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen have had annual meetings over the past 10 years. The Traditional Communications Board of Spratly Islands Soldiers in Khanh Hoa was officially recognized in 2011.

On this occasion, the veterans contributed VND90 million to the military comrade fund, giving relief to soldiers who were sick and had accidents.
Besides, ex-servicemen succeeding in doing business were highly appreciated such as Thuy, Dung, Thanh, etc.
Especially, 80-year-old Nguyen Van Dung, the owner of Thien Phuoc Restaurant, Bai Tien, Nha Trang, was reported to have visited and given gifts to the families of 2 martyrs who had laid down on Spratly Islands.
