In recent years, a safe working environment in Khanh Hoa has been assured thanks to much effort made by local authorities as well as businesses to keep labor hygiene safety and prevent fire and explosion.
Over 5,000 businesses have been operating in Khanh Hoa Province. Occupational health and safety procedures have been implemented such as ensuring tools, equipment and machinery are safe and are kept safe; providing employees with information, instruction and training they need to do their job safely; preventing work-related injury and diseases; and designing an environment that promotes well-being for everyone at work.

In addition, hazardous duty compensation is paid to employees, who may be exposed to potentially hazardous substances during their daily work.
To raise public awareness of safe labor, the Department of Labor, Invalids & Social Affairs jointly held 40 courses in 2012 on labor hygiene & safety, fire & explosion prevention and provided medical care for 1,896 employees.
Besides, labor environment supervision has been performed in 140 institutions by Khanh Hoa Protective Health Center.
According to Mai Xuan Tri, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids & Social Affairs, in recent years, local enterprises have much focused on improvement of production machinery as well as provision of safety working clothing. Workers have become better aware of labor safety, so occupational diseases and accidents have significantly decreased.
Nguyen Huu Thau, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids & Social Affairs, says the 15th National Week for Labor Safety & Fire-Explosion Prevention 2013 has just been launched.
The event aims to raise employers and employees’ awareness of occupational labor safety, health and environment for a safe and healthy work environment.
