At the end of 2012, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs on the swap of holidays in 2013 for officials and public servants.
Accordingly, Vietnamese government officials and civil servants will have 5 consecutive days off (April 27 – May 1) and they will have to work on May 4 (Saturday).
April 30 known as Vietnam Reunification Day and May 1 (International Workers' Day) are among public holidays in Vietnam.
The time adjustment will give employees some extra time for traveling and celebrations.
