The activity has underway for 2 weeks by students of Khanh Hoa Medical College in association with Nha Trang’s “Suc tre dat nang” Club.
They have sent out a signal to vehicles sitting idling for several seconds to shut off their engines during the waiting time for a traffic signal to change to green, explaining that doing so is useful as it will cut down on vehicle emissions while saving fuel.

A local resident named Le Thi Thuy says, “I am not used to tuning off my vehicle at traffic lights because I don’t think it is necessary. Now I have changed my habit thanks to the environmental messages sent by the students. I think everybody should join the meaningful activity.”
“It is delighting that many locals have listened to our messages and followed the advice,” says Phan Thanh Nguyen, head of the club management board.
Green classes
In a series of activities in response to the Earth Hour, Khanh Hoa C4E held an environmental education program named green classes in Nha Trang at Ly Tu Trong Senior High school and Hoang Van Thu Senior High School (on March 18); Trung Vuong Junior High School and Mai Xuan Thuong Junior High School (March 18).
The interesting extracurricular activities brought helpful information about Earth Hour event and other environmentally friendly activities such as cycling, planting trees, minimizing plastic bag use to protect the environment.
The most interesting game, perhaps, was a painting puzzle with 4 paintings bearing different contents and meanings delivering messages of environmental concern.
