Half of the local labor force is expected to have been covered by social insurance by 2020, according to the Vietnam Social Insurance sector’s development strategy approved by the Prime Minister.
The strategy includes measures to boost social insurance collection as well as supervise allowance payment, especially for such cases as maternity leave, work-related accidents, occupational diseases and unemployment in an attempt to prevent insurance fraud.
