The central region transport network upgrading project called ADB5 has been implemented in 19 central provinces, including Khanh Hoa Province. Provincial roads No. 2 and 9 in Khanh Hoa Province were upgraded and put into use, contributing to socio-economic development in mountainous areas.
VND103 billion was poured into the improvement of Provincial roads 2 and 9.
Funded by the ADB5, the provincial road 9 was upgraded and widened in 2011. Besides, submersible bridges were replaced by permanent high bridges, 7m wide, including Tha Mang Bridge (72m long), C10 and Apa Buoi, 45m long each.

Nguyen Thanh Son, a resident in Ba Cum Bac, Khanh Son District says, “Since the provincial road 9 was upgraded, traveling in this area is much easier, even in rainy seasons.”
Dinh Ngoc Binh, Deputy Chairman of Khanh Son District People’s Committee says the transportation is more convenient, benefiting local residents’ business. Convenient transportation has also facilitated law and policy propaganda.
The number of visitors to such tourist areas as Ta Gu Waterfall, Stone Stream, O Kha Valley has increased. However, some sections of the road leading to the tourist areas still need upgrading.
In addition, provincial road 2 was upgraded and widened to 6m in width together with the construction of a district bridge, 24m long, 6m wide.
Besides, the project also funded the construction of a concrete road Ta Gu (Son Hiep), Tha Mang Village cultural house (Ba Cum Bac), Doc Gao Village public restroom (To Hap Town) and so on.
According to Tran Xuan Thang, Deputy Chairman of the rural traffic project managing board (representing the implementation unit of ADB5 project in Khanh Hoa Province), the two roads have been in use for one year, shortening traveling time, contributing the local economic development and assuring traffic safety.
