After one year of trial application of “Hands-on” training in two primary schools in Nha Trang City and Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training has decided to apply the method throughout Khanh Hoa Province in the school year 2013-2014.
"Hands-on" training allows trainees not only to hear what tasks need to be completed, but gives them the opportunity to perform the task themselves.

The educational training tool provides real world experience by allowing learners to get their hands directly on whatever is being learned, creating a sense of empowerment.
Phuong Sai Primary School (Nha Trang City) and Cam Duc 1 Primary School (Cam Lam District) have been chosen to pilot the “Hands-on” method.
Ho Hai Chau, a teacher of Phuong Sai Primary School says the ‘Hands-on method is applied in teaching natural and social subjects of the third form. Students work in groups, each has their own way of thinking. The result may be right or wrong, but that does not matter. The important thing is that the students become interested in their work and understand the lessons deeply.
Nguyen Thi Nhu Tho, a teacher of Cam Duc 1 Primary School says, “Every student has his or her own practice notebook. A teacher works as an guide who can help students if they have difficulty with the tasks they are trying to complete.”
Ha Van Thong, Chief of the Primary Education (Department of Education & Training) says, after one year of trial application, the method has proved to be successful. Both teachers and students are very motivated in classes utilizing the ‘Hands-on’ method.
Under the Ministry of Education & Training’s scheme “Application of ‘Hands-on’ method in schools", period 2011 – 2015, Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training will extend the educational training tool to learners throughout Khanh Hoa Province in the school year 2013 - 2014”. Accordingly, each bureau of education & training will choose 3 classes each primary school to apply the method.
To achieve satisfactory results, besides training courses, schools must take measures to encourage and facilitate teachers to apply this method in terms of lesson preparation time and teaching equipment.
In addition, timely commendation for effective application of the “Hands-on” method and regular class observation are required to motivate teachers to learn and exchange experience for more effective teaching, etc .. .
