Just founded 2 years ago, Dien Khanh Young Doctors’ Club has done many practical activities, contributing to social welfare and community health in Dien Khanh District.

In response to the Month of Volunteers 2014, the club has provided check-ups and medicines free of charge for poor people in Dien Phuoc Commune.

Therefore, Nguyen and other members of the club are enthusiastic to seek donations to help the poor. Young doctors’ weekends have been spent on the charity work.

Meaningful activities of the club have received much support from many individuals and organizations together with great help from Dien Khanh District Medical Center.

Founded in September 2011, the club has drawn the participation of 60 young physicians working at Dien Khanh District Medical Center. They are all interested in social work for the sake of community health.

Nguyen Cong Thang, Head of the club says, the club has won trust in community and among benefactors thanks to practical activities. The club has received 380 gifts together with medicines and VND18 million in cash worth over VND120 million in total for over the past 2 years.

The donations have been used to give free medical check-ups, medicines and gifts to poor residents, ethnic minority people and disadvantaged students in Dien Khanh District.

In 2011, the club in association with Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Company provided medical examination free of charge for over 200 people and offered 80 gifts to ethnic minority people in Lo Gia Village, Suoi Tien Commune; jointly held clean-up campaigns and provided heath care counseling for 60 residents. In 2012, free medical examination was given to 500 people together with 200 gifts offered to the poor.

The club in association with Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Company, Pymepharco JSC Company and benefactors provided free check-ups for 250 people and offered 90 gifts to the poor in Dien Tho Commune in 2013.

Particularly, the club has just jointly held “Benevolent Festival for the sake of community health”, provided free medical examination for 200 people and offered 60 gifts to the poor in Dien Phuoc Commune, etc.

What the club has done has brought change in our lives for the sake of the poor and helped promote kindness and charity activities.
