PhD Le Huu Tho, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health says Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Hida Harumitsu has signed a Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) contract funded by the Government of Japan for 5 heath care and transport projects with representatives from the Southern region, including Khanh Hoa Province.

Accordingly, an aid package for Khanh Hoa is financial assistance for medical equipment worth USD109,110 for the Pediatrics of Khanh Hoa General Hospital. Besides, Hida Harumitsu also signed contracts to fund 4 other projects for Ninh Thuan Province, Can Tho City Red Cross, Tra Vinh Province and Soc Trang Province.
The 5 project packages are worth over USD490,000. Since 1995, 140 projects in 26 cities and provinces nationwide have received GGP worth more than USD10 million.
Reportedly, in 10 recent years, support worth USD80,000 – 90,000/ package has been provided for some hospitals in Ninh Hoa, Cam Ranh, Dien Khanh and Khanh Son, Khanh Hoa Province.
