The organizing board of Robocon Vietnam 2014 held a press conference on May 5 for the Robocon Vietnam 2014 Final. 32 outstanding teams chosen from 161 nationwide are competing in the final round of the Robocon Vietnam 2014 in Nha Trang City.
The winning-team will represent Vietnam at the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) scheduled to take place in India in August, says Do Quoc Khanh, Director of Vietnam Television (VTV)'s Ethnic Language Department.

This is the third successive year Toyota Vietnam has funded the contest. The Robocon Vietnam 2014 Final televised live on VTV2 is underway at Khanh Hoa Sport Hall, 33 Phan Chu Trinh, Nha Trang City on May 6-11.
The theme of this year’s contest is "A Salute for Parenthood" honoring parents for their immense contribution. Compared with previous years, the requirement this year is more difficult in term of research and creation.
This year the problem statement includes two robots, a manual parent robot and an autonomous child robot. The parent robot has to carry child robot up-to the play zone and the child robot plays game activities.
On this occasion, Robocon Techshow 2014, an exhibition for displaying automation products made by students, is continued within the framework of Robocon Vietnam 2014 with the participation of Hanoi University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Sao Do University, Lac Hong University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and so on.
The event is designed to encourage students to research and design high-tech products which can be applied in daily life. Each product is introduced at each break of the final round of Robocon Vietnam 2014.
The Robocon aims to create friendship among young people with similar interests as well as help advance engineering and broadcasting technologies in the region.
As the main sponsor, Toyota Vietnam also has a zone for the display of its outstanding achievements.
