Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company (KHPC) in association with Nha Trang Division of Education & Training has held a contest “Students with knowledge about electricity saving”.
Over 300 students and teachers from such junior high schools as Tran Quoc Toan, Vo Thi Sau and Trung Vuong joined the event which took place at Tran Quoc Toan Junior High School, Nha Trang City. Each school was a team with 10 members. The contest contained greeting, quick response, multiple-choice and presentation rounds.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement added by audience’ cheer and banners saying “Action to save electricity”, “Saving electricity for the future” and so on.
Vo Thi Sau School began with impressive greeting, delivering the message “Only in darkness do we appreciate light. If we don’t save electricity, we will face running out of energy”.
In the quick response and multiple-choke round, students had a chance to get knowledge about natural resources, economical use of electricity and useful information about household appliances, including televisions, washing machines, irons, air-conditioners, etc.
The examiners’ board and audience were particularly interested in the presentation of Bach Tung Chi, a sixth-grader of Trung Vuong School for his suitable theme, convincing argument and evidence. The first prize went to Trung Vuong School, the second to Vo Thi Sau School and the third to Tran Quoc Toan School.
“This contest is helpful and meaningful for us. I can know how to use electricity economically and wisely,” says Huynh Thanh Thuy, an eighth-grader of Vo Thi Sau School.
A student named Phan Huu Hong Linh from Tran Quoc Toan School confirms, “If someone tells me that he does not care about saving electricity, but the bills he pays. I will tell him about the meaning of economical use of electricity towards to whole society and our future.”
Pham Tan Duc, Vice Principal of Tran Quoc Toan School says, “I hope students become aware of energy saving through the contest. The meaning of electricity saving is taught in every subject, especially in physics.”
Nguyen Tuong, Nha Trang City Division of Education & Training says, “The contest provides useful knowledge about electricity saving. I hope more propaganda in various forms will continue to mobilize everybody to join the effort.”
Nguyen Kim Hoang, KHPC Vice Director hopes electricity saving behaviors will be publicized and students themselves will save electricity at home and school. Each student will be a propagandist for energy saving in his community.
