Under the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Program, over the past 5 years, Nha Trang City Women’s Association has succeeded in mobilizing its members to join activities for the sake of a green and healthy environment in Nha Trang City with the message “Let’s begin with small actions: planting a tree, collecting waste, plastic bags and bottles to join hands in environmental protection.”
In response to the IEC Program, Vinh Nguyen Ward Women’s Association has founded a propaganda team in cooperation with Nha Trang Bay Management Board and schools to inspire everyone to take possibilities in identifying solutions and taking actions such as waste collection, “saying no” to plastic bags and environmental pollution, etc.

In addition, clean-up campaigns have been launched together with availability of loans for toilet construction for over 1,000 households. The activities have contributed to environmental improvement in Nha Trang City.
Nguyen Thi Kim Y, Vinh Truong Ward, says, a roving propaganda team of Nha Trang City Women’s Association has jointly held clean-up campaigns in many communities.
According to Le Thi Loan, Vice-Chairwoman of Ngoc Hiep Ward Women’s Association, 19 Ward Women’s Associations have implemented many practical environmental activities, including education on important roles of environment over human health and responsibilities of everyone in environmental protection.
28 environmental clubs have been founded; 30 green and clean routes have been built with such practical activities as “Green Sunday”, helping to raise public awareness of keeping the city clean and green. Besides, through musical shows, drawing competitions and songwriting competitions, meaningful messages have been delivered to people from all walks of life.
Nguyen Thi Khanh Hoa, Chairwoman of Nha Trang City Women’s Association, says, when IEC program finishes, environmental activities and models still remain to keep Nha Trang City green, clean and beautiful.
