Ninh Hoa Town Council of Young Pioneers has provided financial aid for Diep The Tai, a poor student suffering from congenital heart defects, to pay for his hospital cost for successive 3 years. In spite of his disease, Tai has studied hard and has been graded as an excellent student for many years at Pham Ngu Lao Junior High School, Ninh An.

“I am so grateful to the valuable help that brings me hope and strength to overcome problems and get better study results,” says Tai.

According to Truong Tan Hung, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Council of Young Pioneers, mutual support programs have taught young people a sense of responsibility for the community and how to share. The activities have drawn the participation of not only students and teachers, but also adult individuals and businesses.

Bicycles, schools things, uniforms and hundreds of scholarships have been offered to poor students in Khanh Hoa Province.

In the school year 2013 – 2014, the fund “For poor friends” was initiated, providing support for the blind by buying their products and for 270 poor children to go to school. Besides, books, notebooks and used clothes were given to those in flood-stricken and remote areas, says Nguyen Chinh An, Chairman of Nha Trang City Council of Young Pioneers.

Over 2,800 scholarships worth over VND430 million were granted to the less fortunate in Khanh Hoa. In the campaign “Helping friends to school”, over 1,700 children were brought back to school; 260 bicycles and over 5.000 clothing sets worth VND730 million were offered.

The support activities have provided both material and spiritual support to disadvantaged students, thus helping young generations to understand deeply about traditional values of solidarity and mutual support in life.
