Under the direction of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, the Health Department has guided hospitals in Khanh Hoa to enhance technical cooperation and transfer together with the promotion of a satellite hospital project between Khanh Hoa General Hospital and Oncology Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital and Trauma-Orthopedics Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, much investment has been given to district hospitals such as Ninh Hoa, Khanh Vinh, Khanh Son, Ninh Diem, Cam Lam, Van Ninh, Dien Khanh and Cam Ranh with a total capital of nearly VND468 billion, including VND247 billion from the local State budget.
115 two-storey medical stations have been constructed with 25 others under construction. Besides, provincial hospitals have been upgraded such as Khanh Hoa Tuberculosis & Lung Diseases Hospital (150 beds) and Psychiatrics Hospital (150 beds). An oncology hospital project is under design. Khanh Hoa General Hospital is being upgraded to be a regional hospital with 1,000 beds.
Khanh Hoa has had many health insurance support polices for the marginally poor in mountainous areas (100% support annually); 85% support for those in urban and rural areas; ethnic minority people in disadvantaged areas, etc. Students and veterans have also benefited from the policies.
To increase health care quality for medically insured people, in the time to come, the local health care sector will continue propaganda to encourage people to have access to medical insurance; in association with the provincial social insurance sector, give timely solutions to problems that insurance card holders may have, etc.
Medical infrastructures will improve with the promotion of intensive healthcare and scientific work to meet demands of local residents, including those covered by medical insurance.
