The Red Cross of Coastal Central provinces has held a shift handover meeting after the first 6 months of 2014.
Since the beginning of the year, the Red Cross of Coastal Central provinces has maintained its activities successfully and sought donation worth nearly VND146 billion to help 655,000 poor families through charity work such as medical examination, house construction, scholarships, blood donation, etc. contributing greatly to the national target program on poverty alleviation, job creation and social security.
In Khanh Hoa alone, the Red Cross aid worth VND12.5 billion in total was sent to help over 500 disadvantaged families and Agent Orange victims, 3,000 needy children; grant 861 scholarships; finance the repair and construction of 31 houses for the poor, accommodation for teaches and pupils in mountainous areas.
The Red Cross of Coastal Central provinces plans to continue its tasks and boost social charity work in the last 6 months.
