Public Social Service Centers have been devoted to providing a wide range of support services related to basic necessities of life, including food, shelter, physical health, safety, emotional and spiritual well being.

Over 300 old, disabled people and orphans are presently in the care of Khanh Hoa Provincial Social Service Center. Do Huu Ngoc Hoai, Dien Khanh District, says, “I do not know my parents. My grandparents took care of me as a child. When they died, I became desolate. I was taken to the center in 2003 at the age of 12. I have found a cozy and safe home here.” Hoai has just graduated from Nha Trang Vocational School and found a job.

“The staff here are very enthusiastic. They give me great encouragement and care. The center is my home until I die,” says 86-year-old Dang Thi Lien, Phu Yen Province.

All of the vulnerable people are periodically given medical examination and covered by medical insurance. School-age children are taken to school. Apart from vocational training, cultural, musical and sporting activities are held to help promote health and improve spiritual life.
