Community first-aid kit boxes have just been installed by Nha Trang City Youth Union along Nha Trang Beach, facilitating emergency treatment and life support for people suddenly suffering injury or illness.

Nguyen Trung Dung, Secretary of  Nha Trang City Youth Union says, “The community first-aid kit boxes on the beach are really helpful for local residents and tourists during large or small emergencies.”

This is the youth’s work, representing their responsibilities in public healthcare. 10 first-aid kit boxes include basic items such as bandages, dressings, tapes, medicated oil, etc.

Le Anh Tuan, Loc Tho Ward, Nha Trang, says, “I support the work. I sometimes get injured when swimming and I used to travel a long distance back home or to a pharmacy for first aid. Now, the thing has changed.”

Nguyen Thi Thanh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh hopes, “It is necessary first-aid kit boxes be also installed in other locations in Nha Trang City. The practical work has contributed to building a friendly and civilized city.”

With the support of the youth vanguard, the Youth Union Branch of Nha Trang Bay Management Board and Nha Trang City Youth Union have guided their members to protect the boxes and regularly add medical supplies.

In addition, basic first aid information, treatment procedures and instruction have been provided. According to Bui Anh Phong, Head of the team 6, Station 3, at 2-4 Square, after 1 month of installation, first-aid boxes have been used for many cases of emergency. Severe patients, after first aid treatment, have been taken to Khanh Hoa General Hospital.

Reportedly, first-aid boxes are planned to be installed along National Road 1 running through the communes of Vinh Luong and Vinh Phuong; at the Northern and Southern Coach Stations to make initial care equipment easily accessible for use by everyone in need.
