Over the past years, Dien Khanh District Study Promotion Association, Khanh Hoa Province, has mobilized all the society to join in study encouragement and talent promotion in order to increase the intellectual level, improve the human resource capacity and foster talents.
May activities have been held to boost traditional fondness for learning with models such as “Studious families” and “Studious communities” which have received great support from local residents as the models have not only encouraged children to study but also helped schools in moral education and drop-out reduction.

30 out of 100 families have joined study encouragement and talent promotion tasks such as the family of Le, Truong, Tran (Dien An Commune); Do (Dien Lac Commune); Kieu, Vo (Dien Hoa Commune), etc. Study promotion funds have been established to reward good students.
10 families have been honored for their great contribution to the social work. VND60-80 million is raised a year to help hundreds of poor students. In addition, the association has also sought donations from many individuals and organizations to the study promotion fund in an effort to provide schooling opportunities for everyone.
Nguyen Ba Thanh, Director of Agribank Dien Khanh Branch says, “Joining effort to promote education is one of the priorities of the branch in order to encourage students to learn hard as well as help the disadvantaged to overcome difficulties in life and continue their schooling.”
Thanks to the support from the community, many students have tried their best in study and gained great achievements. They include Huynh Thi Mai Phuong (Dien Tan School) with a province-level consolidation prize in English; Dang Thi Thien Huong (Tran Quang Khai Junior High School, Dien Dien Commune) with the first prize in literature; Nguyen Tu Cuong (Hoang Hoa Tham High School) admitted to 2 universities (Hue Medical University and Da Nang University of Technology) and the highest-grade achiever in the university entrance exam to Nha Trang Teacher Training College, school year 2013-2014.
Cuong says, “I have received much support from Dien Khanh District Study Promotion Association. I will return here to work so that I can contribute to the development of Dien Khanh District after graduating.”
The number of “Studious families” and “Studious communities” has increased by the time. Dien Khanh has ranked third in terms of provincial excellent students for many successive years.
Nguyen Van Chi, Standing Vice Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People’s Council and Chairman of the District Study Promotion Association, says, “The students’ achievements are the pride of their families themselves and Dien Khanh District as well.” A fund-raising plan will continue to be developed for further material and spiritual support to local education.
