Annette Herfkens, the sole survivor of a plane accident on O Kha Mountain, Son Trung Commune, Khanh Son District, Khanh Hoa Province in 1992, has returned to Khanh Son District.
Joining Annette Herfkens were Joosje Lupa, her daughter; Ho Thu Thuy, Yak-40 airline captain Luu Cong Luong’s wife and Nguyen Thi Lan, Mi-8 helicopter captain Nguyen Quang Vinh’s wife.

They paid a visit to Khanh Son District People’s Committee, Son Trung Commune People’s Committee and Son Trung medical station to meet doctors and nurses who had given Annette Herfkens first aid. Especially, she visited Cao Van Hanh, the first person to find her in a forest on November 21, 1992.
Yak-40 airline carrying 24 passengers and 6 crew members from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang City crashed due to a tropical storm on November 22, 1992. Then, Mi-8 helicopter sent to bring Annette Herfkens back to Nha Trang also crashed 28 days later.
