Nha Trang City has just announced site clearance for the Trai Thuy Hill scenery restoration project.
According to Nha Trang Center for Development of House Land Fund, 61,000m2 land is going to be withdrawn for site clearance with a total capital of VND70 billion. The project in 2015 will include construction of infrastructures, walking lanes, rest stops, vegetation, etc.

Trai Thuy Hill, a peaceful rest area for pilgrims, is one of the famous attractions in Nha Trang City. Located in the heart of Nha Trang, Trai Thuy Hill is a highlight in the city panorama.
On the Trai Thuy Hill stands an architectural complex of 5 pagodas namely Long Son, Hai Duc, Vien Thong, Tinh Duc and Linh Phong constructed centuries ago. Especially, on the top is a giant Buddha statue and right at the foot is Long Son Pagoda built in 1886. Long Son Pagoda remains the city’s biggest pagoda and presently Khanh Hoa Provincial Buddhist Church’s office.
Bao Tho, Chairman of Phuong Son Ward People’s Committee says, “The project is a promising approach to the improvement in environmental and living conditions.”
When the project is completed, a connection among the religious buildings will be created, facilitating pagoda sightseeing tours. This will be also considered as a “green lung” for the city.
The project aims to restore scenery for religious practice and tourism, bringing delight to many local residents.
Hill Scenery Restoration Project is expected to be implemented soon, contributing to Nha Trang City development and adding more attraction to the beach city.
Nguyen Dinh, Vice Director of the Management Board of Nha Trang Construction Works says, the project approved in 2012 has not been implemented for lack of funding. In the 5th session of Khanh Hoa People’s Council (8th tenure), Khanh Hoa has assigned Nha Trang City People’s Committee to record funding for the project.
Nha Trang Center for Development of House Land Fund is responsible for the site clearance in 2014 with a total capital of about VND70 billion. All households on Trai Thuy Hill will be resettled in Dat Lanh resettlement zone in Vinh Thai Commune.
